Heartbreak in India: Mother and Two Daughters Found Dead in River
A community in Kerala, India, is in mourning after a woman and her two small daughters were found dead in a river on Tuesday afternoon, 15th April.
The woman, identified as Jis Mol Thomas, was just 34 years old. Her daughters, Neha, aged 5, and Ponnu, just 2, were with her. Witnesses say she rode a motorbike with her girls to the riverbank near Ettumanoor and entered the water from a bathing spot.
It wasn’t long before people nearby saw something floating. One of the bodies was spotted first, and when the search began, the other two were also found. Residents were the first to respond before the police arrived.
A Case of Suspected Family Trouble
Jis Mol had previously served as a vice-president in Mutholi Panchayat and was known as a practicing lawyer. Police say early signs point to family-related issues, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Her husband, Jimmy Thonnanmavunkal, is said to run a bus business in the Kottayam–Ayarkunnam area. So far, authorities have registered a case of unnatural death, and a post-mortem is being carried out.
A Community in Mourning
Locals are still in shock. Many say the family had seemed normal, and the news has left people shaken.
As of now, police are not ruling anything out. More details are expected after the investigation is complete.
